Skilled Representation For All Your Family Law Matters

At the Law Office of Sarah M. Turner, we are a full-service family law firm, offering comprehensive representation for divorce, post-divorce matters, child custody and support, and adoption. We inform our clients about all legal options and provide feedback about the consequences of their decisions.

Divorce Representation With A Focus On Peaceful Solutions

Our founding attorney, Sarah M. Turner, is licensed to practice family law in Tennessee, certified as a mediator, and trained in collaborative law. She is uniquely positioned to offer you three types of divorce options. You can choose from:

Traditional litigation: Traditional divorce litigation is the most common form of divorce today. Divorce litigation does not necessarily have to end in court. You can choose to settle at any time and will be provided ample opportunity to do so. However, this option can be stressful and expensive if litigation continues at length.

Divorce mediation: Mediation is a peaceful method of dispute resolution that is now required in Tennessee for residents who file for divorce, post-divorce orders or child custody disputes. Mediation involves you and your ex working to create an agreement with the help of a third-party neutral.

Collaborative divorce: This is a more private method of divorce, settled using alternative dispute resolution methods outside of the courtroom. In collaborative divorce both parties have a lawyer who protects their interests throughout the process, and neither party steps foot in a court room until the divorce is completely resolved and ready to be finalized.

As a part of your divorce you may need assistance with one or more of the following areas:

  • Child custody
  • Parenting agreement
  • Child support
  • Property division
  • Asset division
  • Alimony disputes

Family Law Services Outside Of Divorce

As a full-service family law firm we offer legal assistance outside of divorce. We provide mediation and family court services for child custody, parenting time and child support, regardless of the parents' marital status. We can assist you in modifying a court order if your circumstances have changed. A change of circumstances can include job loss, relocation, job changes or health changes. Our firm assists in court order enforcement. Enforcement can help you regain delinquent child support payments or alimony payments. We also proudly offer adoption services for private, closed, open and relative adoptions.
